{May 10, 2006}   FOOL!

Mr. T getting his own TV Show. Awesome. Ok. I'll admit it right here and now. I had a Mr. T action doll when I was younger. And honestly, the reason I use the word 'fool' today is because of him. You might be surprised at how many people get offended when you call them a fool. That usually means they feel like a fool already. And then there are those people who laugh when you call them a fool. Those are cool people. I'll be looking forward to Mr. T's show knowing that people around the country are gonna be called out for what they really are.

{April 21, 2006}   My Block: Puerto Rico

Because I know you missed it…. Puerto Rico on MTV (link) The show was fun. Too short but fun. You can see more at MTV Overdrive (link) where they have more clips. Just do a browse for the shows and scroll down to My Block. They show some great clips of Bomba in Loiza!!! It definitely highlighted some of the barrios of Puerto Rico – places I would never venture into. And as they said in the clip, places most Puerto Ricans won't venture into. My favorite clip was definitely of Daddy Yankee (link). He isn't my favorite reggaeton artist – that would be Tego – but he is very charismatic and, well, hot.

By the way – because of the layout I'm using, I think the links are hard to see so I'm going to start adding '(link)' for words that are also links so people can see them easily.

{April 20, 2006}   Javier

Javier at VH1Ladies…do you want to hear a man with a silky voice who is also beautiful, gorgeous, handsome, etc.?  If so, go straight to VH1 and watch Javier.  They have a few clips of him singing.  Heaving him sing live is a real treat.  I've been watching his schedule waiting for him to make a stop in Washington D.C.  That would be one concert where I'd be working hard to get as close to the front as possible.  You know he'd spot me in the crowd.  Lock eyes with me. And he would sing "She Spoke to Me" and call me up on stage to dance with him.  Later, a man would walk into the crowd, come up to me, and whisper "excuse me, please come with me" and then lead me backstage to Javier's dressing room.  I'd walk in and waiting for me would be loads of Stargazer Lillies. "How did he know?" I would wonder.  As the concert finishes, he would walk into the room and, well, I can't type the rest. This is a PG blog.  Ok ok, I know – wake up, right?  hahahahaha  A girl can have her fantasies can't she??

Ick!!All I can say is "ew".  Who finds this attractive? Anyone? Remember when everyone thought she was fat? She wasn't. She was normal.  And, in my opinion, looked hot back then. Now she just looks sick and gross and icky.  And this isn't me writing against skinny girls. This is more than skinny.  Although I'm not fond of or find skinny girls attractive, I don't hate them.  I guess I've grown happy with my curves and just prefer to see more people with curves.

Seriously – Nicole makes Paris look healthy.  And that's a stretch.  I'm seriously not hating on Nicole.  She obviously felt pressure from the 'media' and everyone calling her fat.  She probably watched herself on that stupid Real Life show and thought she looked huge next to Paris.  And then went on some sort of crash diet.  There was a time when she had lost just a few pounds – maybe 10 or so – and she still looked healthy and hot.

And yes, us women blame you men for this. Honestly, where I grew up, this photo would be considered the standard that women would need to conform to.  Thankfully, the men in my life these days are quite happy with curvy women and actually prefer that.  Even The Cheese prefers it!!!

{April 4, 2006}   Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Go and listen to the new single by the Red hot Chili Peppers. Nice. I used to hate this group like when I was in college. I have no idea why. Just who I was at the time – someone who hated so many things and never enjoyed life. Then one day, I heard "Under the Bridge" and my hate for them was replaced by love. Something just clicked for me. One of these days, I'll save up and buy most of their stuff from iTunes (provided its all available).

{March 14, 2006}   New Music

I love music. Lots of it. And many different kinds. One of my favorite new artists in the last couple of years is Javier. His first album was silky smooth. One of the first things I’ll be doing tomorrow morning is opening up iTunes and downloading his whole album. I’m that confident that it’ll be great. Women, if you haven’t listened to any of his music, go to his site NOW and hear it. The voice…mmmmm…Another great artist with a new album is Etta James. What? You haven’t ever listened to Etta? Are you seriously that out of touch in music? She is one of the greatest ever. Need proof? Download “At Last” and listen to it a couple of times. Timeless music. I’ll be downloading her album as well.

Now let’s give it up for Van Morrison. That man’s been around forever. How can you not love “Brown Eyed Girl” (written for me I suspect)?? And my favorite, which I got turned on to by my friend J.S., Moondance. I’ll be checking out his new album and may possibly purchase that one too.

Now then…if any of my Jewish readers could please give me their opinion on the new music by Matisyahu I would appreciate it. I saw him perform on one of the late night talk shows and actually liked it. At times during the song, there was just too much going on with the music. It was overdone a bit. But enjoyable. Is the world ready for a Jewish Reggae act??

{March 9, 2006}   American Idol Heating Up!

Anyone who knows me (which is no one really reading this) knows I’m a huge American Idol fan. I didn’t watch the first season although sometimes I wish I would have since I truly enjoy Kelly Clarkson’s music these days. This season is interesting. The men are far stronger than the women although both have strong contendars. My favorite men are Ace and Chris. They are each very different in how they sing and look but both are very talented. In many forums, Ace is not loved. Poor thing. Chris is probably the best all-around guy. He sings well, looks good, and appeals to a broad audience which could help him win.

I don’t care for the women quite as much. Some of the girls are very talented – like Lisa and Katharine but they don’t do much for me. I can’t see following their careers. But I thought that about Kelly too… so what do I know? I will be happy to get down to like the final 6 though. That’s when it gets really fun. All the preliminary stuff is good, but, getting to the finals is what makes the show.
