Halloween was a blast this year. It was my son’s first time out trick-or-treating. He couldn’t say a word or anything and refused to say ‘gracias’ but, he still held his hand out for candy. At first he was happy to hang out in the wagon but then wanted to run around and then when he found out he could get candy (or anything), he was at the door with his sister. At least when he could keep up. He held onto one “fun size” snickers for almost the whole time. Needless to say, it was fairly icky by the time we got home. He finally handed it over. I decided to not wear my costume out trick-or-treating. It woulda been a bit chilly. But we woulda looked cool going as the Super Family. My daughter was Super Girl and looked so cute. Unfortunately, there was one other Super Girl but that’s it. Unlike the million of princesses around. We came home, took out the candy she didn’t want, and put it back out for other kids. So we do not have too much left – unlike those parents who use their kids for candy. (ahem). I can’t eat it and will do my best to stay away from them. And what’s with not giving Nerds this year? Sheesh. Although they are my weakness….

Shutup! I LOVE Nerds too and confiscated all of them again this year.
Most 35ish year olds turn their nose up when I say I have a love affair going with nerds — most of the mommy’s go for the chocolate, it seems. The cherry nerds are my favorite.
I recently had watermelon apple nerds and there were amazing!!!!!
I agree with your sentiment that people who use their kids for candy are shameful. As with everything, it should only be about the children. By god.
